Pertama-tama mari kita mulai dengan kegiatan manusia yang berdampak negatif, contohnya membuang sampah sembarangan dan deforestasi. Hal lain yang tidak kita kira bakal mencemari lingkungan tempat tinggal satwa adalah pemanfaatan pupuk buatan manusia (bukan pupuk alami seperti kompos), makan makanan yang mengandung bahan aditif yang berbahaya bagi lingkungan, membuang limbah pabrik tanpa diolah terlebih dahulu, dan menggunakan mesin yang mengeluarkan emisi karbon serta energi dengan limbah karbon.
